Poland unveils draft H2 law

The Polish government has announced a draft hydrogen law, which would include incentives for electrolyser companies and bring regulations in line with EU-level legislation.

Three definitions of clean hydrogen are set out in the draft law:

Low-carbon hydrogen, which can be produced from any source including fossil fuels as long as there are “appropriate emission reductions” such as via carbon capture and storage
Renewable hydrogen, from any renewable energy source
Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO), which must be produced according to the EU’s definition
