Commission grants €100m state aid for Italian H2 project
Italy received on Monday the approval of the European Commission (EC) with regard to a EUR-100-million (USD 106m) scheme for state aid to support the local manufacturing of electrolysers for hydrogen production.
The Commission has given the green light to the measure under the Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework and in line with the Green Deal Industrial Plan, having determined that it “is necessary, appropriate and proportionate to accelerate the green transition.”
Financial support under the scheme will be extended in the form of direct grants, which will be available to businesses from all sectors, with the exception of financial institutions.
Funds will be granted until no later than December 31, 2025.
