McPhy - McPhy Giga Factory (FR08)

McPhy is a leading industrial player in hydrogen production and distribution equipment contributing to the global development of low-carbon hydrogen as a solution for the energy transition. McPhy is a genuine “European native” with centers of excellence in France, Germany, and Italy since the company was established.

The main objective of the project is to develop a “XL Stack” and large electrolysis platforms for larger needs (via 20 MW-scale | 4 000 Nm3/h and 100 MW-scale platforms | 20 000 Nm3/h) for refineries, methanol/chemical plants, or steel applications and by building, testing and operating a GigaFactory (1 GW capacity) for XL stacks and electrolysers.

The project started in late 2021. The Gigafactory is located at Belfort in France. Civil work on this future plant has already begun, with a planned start-up in the first half of 2024, followed by a gradual ramp-up to achieve an annual production capacity of 1 GW
