IVECO - Hydrogen trucks (IT20)

The project Hydrogen Trucks will be executed by IVECO, collaborating with some direct partner and involving selected indirect partners such as:

• technology providers
• Universities & Research centers
• Green Hydrogen producers and distributors
• Potential end users

 As a reflection of a solid and sustainability-oriented long-term strategy, within the IPCEI Hy2Tech, Iveco will develop hydrogen trucks as part of the zero emission mobility solutions to be offered to the market.

The project includes:

• Developing, prototyping, and testing innovative solutions for hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles on road mobility:
  • Establish requirements and needs at system level.
  • Research and develop new vehicle architectures.
  • Align the processes for the new product development and final industrialization.
  • Design, test and manufacture prototypes, in compliance with the highest quality standard, in order also to de-risk the homologation of new H2 powered trucks.
• Ensuring high levels of security of hydrogen-powered vehicles, by testing and validating the hydrogen application for what concerns facilities, systems and vehicles.

The project is planned to start in 2023 with a duration of 3 years, connecting the Research and development phase to the industrialisation, production and commercialisation of hydrogen trucks.
